Airport Runway

Airport runway concrete requires ultra-high strength, high flexural strength, wear resistance, impact resistance, freeze-thaw resistance, crack resistance, and extremely high smoothness. It must be capable of withstanding long-term heavy aircraft loads and braking friction.
Strength requirements: Compressive strength is typically C30–C35, with flexural strength ≥ 4.0–5.0 MPa. Higher-grade airports and military airports may use higher strength grades.
Wear and impact resistance: High wear resistance, impact resistance, and spalling resistance are required. The surface must not become dusty or peel off, as this would affect flight safety.
Freeze-thaw resistance, impermeability, and salt corrosion resistance: Airports often use de-icing salts, so resistance to chloride ion penetration is essential. The pavement should prevent water accumulation and water infiltration to avoid frost heave damage.
