Tunnel
In simple terms, tunnel concrete is a special type of concrete that features high strength, good impermeability, strong durability, fast construction, and the ability to adapt to the harsh underground environment. Different requirements apply to different parts of the tunnel.
I. Overall Characteristics
High strength grades: For initial support (shotcrete): generally C20–C25. For secondary lining, inverted arch, and floor slab: commonly C30–C35; for long and large tunnels, C35 or higher is often used.
Impermeability and crack resistance
Good durability: Must withstand groundwater corrosion, with requirements for freeze-thaw resistance, erosion resistance, and high density.
Workability adapted to the tunnel environment: Setting times (initial and final) should be controllable, suitable for long-distance and continuous pouring.
