Recently, at the construction site of a national-level high-speed rail hub in China, a batch of high-performance concrete admixtures was successfully put into use, effectively addressing technical challenges such as slump loss and temperature-controlled crack prevention in large-scale concrete pouring. This has provided critical support for the high-quality advancement of the project. As a regional transportation core hub, the high-speed rail hub spans a total construction area of over 500,000 square meters, involving extensive mass concrete structure construction.

This has provided critical support for the high-quality advancement of the project. As a regional transportation core hub, the high-speed rail hub spans a total construction area of over 500,000 square meters, involving extensive mass concrete structure construction.

According to the project construction manager, the polycarboxylate-based high-efficiency water reducer and retarder composite product selected for this project can achieve a water reduction rate of over 35% in concrete. While ensuring the required concrete strength grade, it significantly reduces cement usage and minimizes hydration heat, successfully mitigating the risk of cracks in key structures such as mass foundations and box girders. Additionally, the slump retention properties of the admixtures ensured stable fluidity during long-distance transportation and large-scale pouring, improving construction efficiency by more than 30%.

Industry experts noted that in major transportation infrastructure projects such as high-speed rail hubs, the precise selection of concrete admixtures directly impacts project quality, construction efficiency, and service life. The successful application of these high-performance admixtures provides a replicable technical solution for similar transportation infrastructure projects.
