Recently, Guangxi Keda New Materials Co., Ltd. announced the successful development of a new high-corrosion-resistant marine concrete admixture. Specifically tailored to the marine environmental conditions of the Beibu Gulf, characterized by high salt spray and strong tidal forces, this product significantly enhances the corrosion resistance and service life of concrete structures. It has now been officially applied in an expansion project of a deep-water port in the Beibu Gulf, providing critical material support for the high-quality development of regional port infrastructure.

As a vital maritime gateway for the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, the Beibu Gulf continues to expand its port construction scale. However, corrosive agents in the marine environment, such as chloride ions and sulfates, can accelerate the aging of concrete structures and corrosion of reinforcing steel, severely compromising the safety, stability, and service life of facilities like wharves and trestles. The new marine concrete admixture developed by Guangxi Keda New Materials employs dual technologies of composite anti-corrosion and densification enhancement. By optimizing its molecular structure, it forms a three-dimensional protective network within the concrete, effectively blocking chloride ion penetration while increasing concrete density and inhibiting crack formation.

According to tests conducted by an authoritative third-party institution, concrete incorporating this new admixture exhibits an over 85% reduction in chloride ion permeability coefficient compared to ordinary concrete. It achieves a sulfate resistance rating of KS150 and a frost resistance grade of F350, enabling it to withstand the complex environment of the Beibu Gulf, which features significant temperature variations and frequent tidal cycles. Its service life can be extended to over 120 years, far exceeding traditional marine engineering concrete standards. In the expansion project of a deep-water port in the Beibu Gulf, the admixture met the requirements for C50 marine concrete pouring, ensuring the construction quality of key structures such as caissons and wharf surfaces while improving construction efficiency by 25% compared to traditional materials.

A representative from Guangxi Keda New Materials Co., Ltd. stated that the development of this new marine concrete admixture is a significant achievement resulting from the company's focus on the construction needs of Beibu Gulf ports and its deep engagement in the regional market. Leveraging the company's 100,000-ton intelligent production line, it now possesses large-scale production capacity, ensuring sufficient material supply for the expansion and upgrading of Beibu Gulf ports and the construction of industrial parks along the coast. Moving forward, the company will collaborate with the research center jointly established with Guangxi University to continuously optimize product performance and introduce more specialized materials tailored to marine engineering.

Industry experts believe that the development and application of this new high-corrosion-resistant marine concrete admixture fills the gap in locally produced high-end marine concrete admixtures in Guangxi, effectively reducing the reliance on imported materials for port construction. Against the backdrop of the ongoing development of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, this product will provide solid material support for transforming the Beibu Gulf ports into modern comprehensive hubs, further enhancing the core competitiveness of regional infrastructure projects.
