Guangxi Coastal Highway
The Guangxi Coastal Highway is a first-class road laid along the coastline of the Beibu Gulf. It starts at Zhushan Village in Dongxing City, passes through Fangchenggang, Qinzhou, and Beihai, and ends at Shankou Town, with a total planned length of 474.6 kilometers. The plan includes one main line (314.2 km) and four branch lines (160.4 km). As of 2024, 232 km of the entire route have been completed, 54.1 km are under construction, and 188.5 km (including 128.5 km of the main line and 60 km of branch lines) remain unbuilt.
This highway is a vital component of National Highway G228 (Dandong to Dongxing). Some sections are built to a dual six-lane standard with a design speed of 80-100 km/h. Its key control project, the Longmen Bridge, opened to traffic on December 29, 2024. As Guangxi's longest sea-crossing bridge (total length approximately 7.6 km) with a main span of 1,098 meters, its opening has reduced the travel time between Fangchenggang Port and Qinzhou Port from 1.5 hours to 25 minutes, significantly enhancing transportation efficiency for the integrated development of the Beihai-Qinzhou-Fangchenggang area.
