Wuzhou Xunjiang Super-Major Bridge

The Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge, a critical control project of the Cangwu-Rongxian Expressway, spans a total length of 1,688 meters. The main bridge features a span arrangement of 55 meters + 2 × 520 meters + 55 meters and is designed as a single-pylon three-tower spatial cable suspension bridge. This bridge is currently the world's longest-span single-pylon three-tower spatial cable suspension bridge under construction and also China's first three-tower spatial cable suspension bridge with a main span exceeding 500 meters. Its key technological innovations include the first-time application of a double-deep-saddle design, an anchor foundation employing a pile-wall composite structure, and a "cable-first, girder-later" construction sequence. The bridge achieved the topping-out of all three main towers in December 2023, completed anchor block casting and main cable installation in 2024, and successfully achieved closure in April 2025. It is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2025. Upon completion of the Cangwu-Rongxian Expressway, it will significantly enhance the Guangxi expressway network and promote the development of the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt.
